Has John F Kerry Jumped the Shark?

Granted, those looney Time and Newsweek polls that had Bush getting an eleven point bounce out of the convention are as fictional as Tony Soprano. Still, they say something, if only by the fact that they were put out by America's most sober news weeklies. Bush has the aura of victory about Bush -- compare the conventions, the star power on the podium, the aggression, the manliness. In all of those categories, the Republicans have it all over The Windsurfer.

Frankly, the race is still open, and, I predict Kerry will pull ahead in the debates. And Edwards will dominate Dick "Apartheid coddler" Cheney. But the question remains: Has John Kerry jumped the shark? And, if so, when precisely did it happen?

Possible Kerry Campaign JTS Moments:

1) When the balloons failed to pop out during the Democratic Convention
2) When Kerry stuffily told a working class audience, "Who among us doesn't like NASCAR?" , which harkened us back to this little chestnut from that significant cultural artifact The Official Preppy Handbook, "at a 1972 campaign stop in West Virginia, (Sargent) Shriver, McGovern's running mate, tells a tavern full of miners, 'You guys are great! Bartender, beers for the house -- and a Courvoisier for me!'"
3) When Page Six ran a photo comparing Kerry's face to a tree?
4) Kerry wins the Iowa Primary
5) Teresa Heinz-Kerry tells reporter to "shove it."
6) Vanessa Kerry "dates" Ben Affleck, imparting the "Affleck Stink" on the entire Kerry campaign
7) The Kerry Daughters were kissing up on John Cusack on a bench outside 15 Beacon in Boston
8) Ben Afflleck says of Vanessa Kerry that she looks like a "Nordic milkman's daughter, with her flaxen hair."
9) All of the above
