Yes, Yes, Yes: Dennis Quaid Cheated on Meg Ryan

(image via sky)

Both Meg Ryan and Dennis "Rhymes with Chick Flick" Quaid are pretty much washed-up artifacts of late 80s film, whose A-List door policy, as the decade wore down, became -- how does one say this? -- quite lax. Lots of people became household names and shouldn't have been in the interregnum between "St. Elmo's Fire" and the onset of Seattle garage rock, like, say prop-star Carrot Top and Pauley "Waste of a Three Picture Deal" Shore. (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment) But for the few of you who are interested in esoteric 80s arcana (and we are), from those intrepid Page Sixxies:

"MEG Ryan has made it official: Dennis Quaid cheated on her during their nine-year marriage. The collagen-lipped actress - who made headlines when she took up with Russell Crowe after her union to Quaid crumbled in 2000 - was unequivocal when an Allure writer asked her flat-out if Quaid had strayed. 'Yes, yes, yes, she mouths silently,' Allure reports in its May issue out Tuesday."

Of course this allows Meggers plausible denial. And with the surgically-ravaged mouth, cosmetically "fortified" cheeks (not unlike a Crusader castle), and, last but not least, the absence of an actual voice caught on tape, she can always fall back and say that No, she wasn't mouthing anything ... she was merely reconnoitering excess collagen that had gone awry.

(A considerable p;ause) And whatnot. (Page Six)
