Dinesh D'Souza Takes a Beating

(image via Phillysonline)

It's about time someone took Dinesh D'souza out back and really whipped his ass. Intellectually speaking, of course (Exaggerated cough suggesting feigned detachment) During the Reagan Administration he was known colloquially as "Distort D'Trutha" -- so fucking nasty was he at spinning hard information into synthetic bendy-twists to suit his Master's purposes. Last we heard Dsouza was defending the institution of slavery as not really that bad (The Conservative movement had Thomas Sowell do much the same, economically, saying -- spurriously -- that Indentured Servitude was equal to slavery; yeah, right). Dinesh also thinks that Colonialism was, for lack of a better word, cool(Averted Gaze)

D'souza is the movement's point man on racial issues. The pit bull of the ultra-right. And why not? Their favorite spectator sport is watching from a safe distance as brown-skinned people decimate each other. James Wolcott writes:

"Don't think it's online as yet, but in next week's NYTimesBookReview Alan Wolfe administers quite a drubbing.

"'Like his hero Joe McCarthy, he has no sense of shame. He is a childish thinker and writer tackling subjects about which he knows little to make arguments that reek of political extremism. His book is a national disgrace, a sorry example of a publishing culture more concerned with the sensational than the sensible.'

"Who is the guilty reeker? Why none other than the Rishwain research scholar at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University, our old friend Dinette D'Setta."

Cannot. Wait. To. Read. NYTimesBookReview.
