Stengel Defends Carney

Time magazine managing editor Rick Stengel is defending staff writer Jay Carney's decision to become the Vice President Joe Biden's Communications Director. Carney and Time are taking hits from the right blogosphere for being in the tank for Obama. From Politico:

"Time Managing Editor Richard Stengel, reacting on Monday to Jay Carney’s decision to leave the magazine for a job with the Obama administration, said that his outgoing Washington bureau chief 'doesn’t have any kind of ideology.'

"He’s always been a voice of fairness and decency,' Stengel said."

In the interest of fairness we cannot fail to note that Time magazine was intensely pro-Obama. Time made this blog look like The Drudge Report.
